About
The first installment of the Dream Archives project is shown in my solo exhibition entitled ‘Corporeal Dream’ from November 20th – December 12th, 2009 at SIGIarts Gallery, Jakarta, Indonesia- along with my latest works in two major themes that I have been exploring: To Breed Or Not To Breed and Hidden Growth.
The seeds for the Dream Archives project was first conceived in late 2007 but it was not until 2009 that the actual realization was begun. It is a series of mixed-media installations in development investigating the realm of subconsciousness; of dream in its multiple and layered meanings. This project is enabled by generous support from KOLO.
In this project I take ‘dreams’ to include:
- a series of thoughts, images, or emotions occurring during sleep
- a strongly desired goal or purpose
- hopes and aspirations
- fantasies or daydreams
The Dream Archives take two forms:
The Portals are various art-objects and contraptions housed inside altered KOLO Havana boxes. You can see them here.
The Universal Scrapbooks are hybrid scrapbooks which will involve public participation in their making. Click HERE if you are interested to participate. KOLO New Kaji albums will be used for these. The Universal Scrapbooks will be shown in my next exhibition in the near future.

This sounds like such an amazingly cool project. I’ve long been fascinated by dreams; I kept a dream journal for years. Can’t wait to see what you create.
